Personal, professional, and tailored experiences with clay

Join artist Sarah Koik in her North Hollywood studio for private lessons, or book her and her team to come to you and your event space for a special private group workshop. Sarah has over a decade of experience working professionally as a ceramic artist, and 15 years working as an educator in science museums and higher education. With her extensive professional teaching background and 10 year career as a ceramicist, she is focused on both best practice and growing in your own creative voice through your own investigations and interests. Learn about her process, utilize her techniques, and dive deeper into your own practice with personalized private lessons & workshops. Pottery is an incredible medium that is almost as old as humans, and working with clay connects you to this ongoing narrative. Learning about the many layers, processes, and pathways is a grounding and exhilarating lifelong journey.

While still navigating the ongoing realities of Covid-19, all city and state safety recommendations will be observed, including the requirement that participants wear masks at all times while indoors.

We had a great experience with Sarah’s workshop and would absolutely do it again. She expertly and safely led our group of 8 people during the pandemic. Sarah prepped ahead of time so we each had our own set of tools, materials and distanced outdoor work space. Her project plan had the right amount of flexibility to accommodate people with zero experience as well as those with more advanced ceramics skills. She was even able to accommodate one person in our group who joined remotely. Sarah completed the glazing and firing, then packaged and had our work delivered to us. Overall it was a delight—we learned about sculpture, made beautiful finished objects under her guidance, and did all of this in a very safe environment.
